THE VINEYARD |
1975- Established a research vineyard of 200 vines. Over a dozen varieties were planted and some of the oldest Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in the East continue to grow there. 1995-Doubled the number of vines in the initial plot and introduced several types of divided canopy trellising systems. 2006-Added over 3000 vines bringing our Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Chambourcin acreage to 6. 2008-Planted Lemberger (1 acre), Petit Verdot (1/2 acre) and a 1/2 acre research plot concentrating on Italian varietals. 2009- Planted 3.5 more acres including Syrah, Viognier, Chardonnay, Albarino, Traminette and others. |
